Infrared Body Wraps (unavailable at this time)

Sweating out the toxins in the infrared sauna

Sweating out the toxins in the infrared sauna

Weight loss and inch loss are  the most popular reasons most people get body wraps or use  infrared heat.  However, there are other health benefits when you get a quality therapeutic body wrap or infrared sauna wrap treatment.

Other benefits of infrared include:

  • Reduction of stored toxins, which love to hang out in our fat cells
  • Reduction of the appearance of cellulite. When fat accumulates, circulation deteriorates in those areas. Infrared rays improve micro-circulation to cellulite areas to help flush the fat cells out. Also, when circulation is poor, the hormones that control the deposit and removal of fat cells can’t get where they need to go to  do their job properly
  • Improved cardiovascular function – it’s a ‘passive’ cardio workout. Excellent for the heart.
  • Decreased muscle and joint pain – which means it’s great before a massage!
  • Improved skin tone, reduction of blemishes, faster healing, boosted immune system

Self Serve body wraps help to reduce cellulite, burn calories & gently detox your body

The key to achieving the best benefits is consistency, and also being mindful of what you put back into your body in between sessions. Infrared Body Wraps  improve your weight loss results tremendously when used in conjunction with clean eating.

Self Serve Infrared Sauna Wrap Prices:

Single – $69.99

5 pack – $299.00

10 pack – $549.00

You will apply specialized creams to your entire body and then target creams on problem areas. You will then step into a plastic body suit and lie down in our relaxing sauna and enjoy 40-45 minutes of deep heat which provides all of the benefits listed above. The creams act as a second skin which makes the body have to work harder to sweat to cool down, this in turn burns double the calories.

FAQs on Infrared body wrap:

Q: How long does each session take? A: The customer will have 10 minutes to prepare themselves for the wrap in the privacy of their own room. The infrared session is 40-45 minutes long.

Q: What parts of the body can be targeted? A: This is a full body wrap, and the whole body is exposed to the creams and the infrared heat, only your head will be out (which makes it much easier to breathe instead of being fully submersed in a hot sauna.

Q: What are the body reshaping opportunities using Infrared Body Wraps? A: The answer greatly depends on the physiological make-up of each individual. Generally, the greater the excess weight being carried, the faster and more dramatic the reshaping results will be. Some people will not experience significant weight loss at all but will see improved body shape, and a loss of inches or dress sizes. Extremely physically fit people that don’t carry excess weight or inches can experience much improved muscle tone. Obviously, the more physically active a person is, the greater the benefits that can be achieved through Infrared Body Wraps. Common sense dictates that if a client is on a wrap program and then eats or drinks excessively most of the results will be negated. Infrared Body Wraps will be of most value when used practiced in conjunction with a balanced exercise and eating program. Clients that lead a very sedentary lifestyle can still achieve great results over a longer period, assuming that they exercise adequate control over dietary and other general health factors. These wraps are actually considered ‘passive cardiovascular exercise’. Experience worldwide indicates the rule of thumb is one clothes size reduction in 6 to 10 sessions with 2 to 3 days between each session. However, as previously indicated, results depend on each person’s particular make up and physiology.

Q: Will changing dietary and health habits improve results from the Infrared Body Wrap sessions? A: Of course any diet and lifestyle improvement will be of benefit whether or not people decide to undertake a Infrared program. However, if a client has made the commitment to the Infrared program more value will be derived from that commitment if other lifestyle improvements are also undertaken.

Q: What Is Infrared? A: Infrared is the band of light we perceive as heat. We cannot see this band of light with the naked eye, but we can feel this type of light in the form of heat. Our sun produces most of its energy output in the infrared segment of the spectrum. Infrared rays heat your body without having to heat the air in-between, through a process called conversion. The infrared is divided into 3 segments by wavelengths, measured in microns; 0.76~1.5 microns-near;1.5~5.6 microns-middle;5.6~1000 microns-far infrared. Among these segments, only far infrared penetrates organic substances such as the human body two to three inches so that the warming effect is very uniform.

Q: How & Why Do Infrared Body Wraps Work? A: Far infrared energy (FIR) is a part of the natural light spectrum minus the UV element. Our sauna is set to output energy in the 5.6 to 25 micron FIR band also peaking around the 9.4 micron level to achieve maximum effectiveness. When FIR energy penetrates through the skin it transforms from light energy to heat energy and elevates the temperature of the subcutaneous layers. The body’s absorption of this energy simulates a workout, burning up to 900 calories in a 45 minute session providing body shaping and detoxification.

Q: Should I drink water before or after a session? A: It is essential to drink water before, during and after a session; allowing the body to stay hydrated and replace body fluids that have been sweated out during the session. Drinking a lot of water will help eliminate the toxins in your system that the body wraps target. The body won’t sweat properly if dehydrated.

Q: How often can clients repeat Infrared Body Wrap sessions? A: This will depend on a person’s lifestyle. If a person is very physically active undertaking significant walking, jogging, working out, or competitive sports, then Infrared Body Wrap sessions can be done as often as every 2 days. For best results, use the Infrared Body Wrap right before a workout as this will help burn the most dramatic amount of calories and also has maximum impact on body definition. With relatively physically inactive people, a minimum of 3 days between sessions is recommended. More regular sessions are unnecessary and may actually be detrimental to results. Upon reaching the intended body shape, it is possible to revert to maintenance only schedule, which for most people, should be around 2 to 4 times a month.

Q: Can clients use multiple infrared treatments, such as a body wrap and a tanning session, on the same day? A: Both Infrared Body Wraps and tanning beds give off infrared heat; therefore it is possible to receive a burn or heat rash if both sessions are undertaken on the same day. It is not recommended, especially if the client is fair skinned and prone to burning. Tanning the previous or next day should be perfectly fine.

Q: Who can use the Infrared Body Wraps? A: The infrared energy in our Body wrap is not only safe, but also highly beneficial for your body. As with anything, you should always consult with your own doctor if you have any questions on whether an Infrared Body wrap is appropriate for you. And some people should not use Infrared Body wraps (see below).

Contraindications for Infrared Body Wraps:

Reading the following safety precautions is the first step towards determining if an Infrared Body Wrap is right for you. If any of the below apply to you, consult your physician prior to Infrared Body Wrap use:

Cardiovascular Issues or Diabetes – Individuals suffering with a medical history of heart disease, low or high blood pressure, circulatory problems or diabetes should consult a physician prior to use. Heat stress increases cardiac output and blood flow in an effort to transfer internal body heat to the outside environment via the skin (perspiration) and respiratory system. This takes place primarily due to major changes in the heart rate, which has the potential to increase by thirty (30) beats per minute for each degree increase in core body temperature.

Medications – Individuals who are using prescription drugs should seek the advice of their personal physician since some medications may induce drowsiness, while others may affect heart rate, blood pressure and circulation. Diuretics, barbiturates and beta-blockers may impair the body’s natural heat loss mechanisms. Anticholinergics such as amitryptaline may inhibit sweating and can predispose individuals to heat rash or to a lesser extent, heat stroke. Some over-the-counter drugs, such as antihistamines, may also cause the body to be more prone to heat stroke.

Alcohol & Drug Abuse – Contrary to popular belief, it is not advisable to attempt to “sweat out” a hangover. Alcohol intoxication decreases a person’s judgment; therefore, he/she may not realize when the body has a negative reaction to high heat. Alcohol also increases the heart rate, which may be further increased by heat stress. The use of alcohol, drugs or medications prior to an infrared body wrap session may lead to unconsciousness.

Elderly – The ability to maintain core body temperature decreases with age. This is primarily due to circulatory conditions and decreased sweat gland function. The body must be able to activate its natural cooling processes in order to maintain core body temperature. If elderly, operate at a lower temperature and for no more than 15 minutes at a time.
Children – The core body temperature of children rises much faster than adults. Only adults over the age of 18 are permitted to use our body wrap system.

Chronic Conditions / Diseases Associated with Reduced Ability to Sweat Or Perspire – Multiple Sclerosis, Central Nervous System Tumors and Diabetes with Neuropathy are conditions that are associated with impaired sweating. Consult a physician.
Hemophiliacs / Individuals Prone t o Bleeding – The use of infrared saunas should be avoided by anyone who is predisposed to bleeding.
Fever & Insensitivity to Heat – Individuals with insensitivity to heat or who have a fever should not use the body wrap until the fever subsides.

Pregnancy – pregnancy is contraindicated for our wraps but post delivery they are a wonderful way to reshape the body and firm up the skin

Menstruation – Heating of the low back area of women during the menstrual period may temporarily increase menstrual flow. This should not preclude sauna use as long as precautions are taken.

Joint Problems: If you’ve had a recent (acute) joint injury, you should not heat that area for the first 48 hours after the injury, or until the hot and swollen symptoms subside. Joints that are chronically hot and swollen may respond poorly to an Infrared Body Wrap.

Medical Implants: Metal pins, rods, artificial joints, or any other surgical implants generally reflect infrared rays and are not heated by infrared heat systems.

Silicone Breast implants: silicone may heat up during an infrared session but we can provide a large towel to cover the area which can lessen this. Silicone does absorb infrared energy. Implanted silicone may be warmed by infrared rays. Since silicone melts at over 200 degrees Celsius, it should not be adversely effected, especially if a towel is used.

Worsened Conditions: Should any condition worsen with the use of the Body Wrap, we recommend that you discontinue your use of the system.

Pain: You should not experience any pain during a Body Wrap. If you do, it is clearly inappropriate for you at that time.

If you have any conditions not mentioned on this list, please contact us for more information.
